emotional eating dietitian

If this resonates, you’re in the right place. I’m Sherri Clarke—an emotional eating dietitian (MS, RD, LDN) and I help people step out of the cycle of overeating, stress eating, emotional eating, and body shame. If you’ve tried being hard on yourself, tried strict accountability, and still end up feeling stuck, you’re not alone—and you’re not broken. You’re human. And food doesn’t have to feel this hard.

As an emotional eating dietitian, I don’t treat your eating patterns like a “willpower problem.” Eating behaviors usually make sense when we understand what they’ve been doing for you—comfort, relief, distraction, self-soothing, numbing, coping, or simply getting through a tough season. The goal isn’t to shame that. The goal is to recognize it, understand it, and build new skills so you have more options—especially when life gets messy.

That’s why this work is different. Instead of more rules, you learn awareness, compassion, and practical tools that fit real life. We work on the “why” underneath your patterns, not just what’s on your plate. We make space for emotions without letting them drive your choices. And we aim for steadiness—not perfection. If you’re still reading, something here has probably struck a chord. What if you tried something different?

When emotional eating dietitian is what you’re searching for, here’s the truth I want you to hold onto: you don’t need a brand-new personality to change your relationship with food. You need support that feels safe, realistic, and sustainable. And you deserve that.

Tired of the diet rollercoaster?

Let’s heal your relationship with food – for good.

Hi, I’m Sherri.

Since 2013, I’ve been helping people who have a love/hate relationship with food find better balance and peace.

Because food can feel like the enemy—

And yet—food can also feel like your comfort, your reward, your escape. A warm hug when the world feels heavy. A constant when things feel out of control.

If your eating is a constant source of stress, you’re not alone.

You might be stuck in the same cycle so many of my clients know well:

Here’s what I want you to know:

Let’s Talk About the Why

Most dietitians focus on meal plans and macros—what to eat, when to eat, and how to prep it.

My approach is different. While nutrition is certainly important, for my clients it is just one piece of a complex puzzle.

Because healing your relationship with food means taking the focus off questions like:

And shifting it toward questions like:
